The Heart Behind Daughters of Day

Hey ladies! Bee here! I am beyond ecstatic that you ladies gave Daughters of Day a visit! I consider this blog a platform to be an open book, honest look of the lives of myself and the other contributors, from our struggles to our walk with God. Below I'll share a little bit more about myself, and my hearts for women, ministry and the blog. Enjoy!

First of all, welcome to Daughters of Day! I’m Bianca VanWindt, the founder. God placed Daughters of Day in my heart in 2013. Little did I know, it would stir up a desire to encourage women to live out their wildest dreams with God-given confidence and grace. My burden is to see women of all ages become fearless in their pursuit of Christ. I dealt with a lot of insecurity and change growing up. I changed schools often and always found myself doubting the greatness inside me. I purposely hid my talents and longed for a sense of mentorship within the female community. So when God put a dream to start a movement that encouraged women, I had no clue what it would look like or where to begin. All I knew is that I wanted women to see themselves as strong, fierce, and true to the little whisper inside them to go after their craziest dreams. But the more I prayed, the more Daughters of Day took shape.

The heartbeat of Daughters of Day is found in 1 Thessalonians 5:5-15,

You’re sons of Light, daughters of Day. We live under wide open skies and know where we stand. So let’s not sleepwalk through life like those others. Let’s keep our eyes open and be smart. Since we’re creatures of Day, let’s act like it. Walk out into the daylight sober, dressed up in faith, love, and the hope of salvation.

I love that verse the more I read it, because it exemplifies exactly who a Daughter of Day is. A daughter of day is confident, because she knows where she stands with God, her calling, and her self-worth. Her eyes are open for opportunity and and she strives to be wise in all she does. A daughter of day isn't solely consumed with following superficial fads, she is most concerned about dressing in “faith, love & The hope of salvation.” My prayer is that you would begin to walk out a life of integrity and purpose through reading this blog and making this verse personal to your life. The past few years, this project remained a title as I completed a 2 year long ministerial internship. But - 3 years older and wiser - I couldn’t be more excited to launch this movement!

If you’ve felt a longing for a sense of community amongst other women, a safe haven to discuss tough issues and find strength when you’re at your weakest, you’ve come to the right place. We warmly welcome submissions or requests for topics that you would like us to cover or specific videos you would like to see! We believe in providing strong, raw, open, and transparent testimonies about our lives. We live in a day in age where women are constantly competing against each other and putting up walls to protect their insecurities from being exposed. We are striving to do the exact opposite! Our prayer is that wherever you find yourself today, you would come to realize you are a Daughter of Day, a queen in every sense of the word! We're just here to remind you.

See you on the blog!

Xoxo, Bee
