Examples of unqualified in a sentence
He is clearly unqualified for the job.
We've all been there. Sitting in the lecture we have no business sitting in, working at the job we constantly feel confused at, in the friend group we feel we don't deserve. In some way or another, we all, at some point of every day feel un-qualified, unworthy, undeserving. At least I know I do.
I often think about how far God has brought me since my angsty teen years. We've all had them, or maybe you're still in them (it gets better). When I look at my life in retrospect, I think about how unqualified I am for the calling God has given me. How do I encourage girls when I myself need encouragement? How do I stay faithful in my friendships when I feel under appreciated? How do I pray without ceasing when there are only 24 hours in a day, and 27 hours worth of work to get done? How do I get married when I don't even know how to make easy mac without burning it? Please tell me I'm not alone in this!
Either way, despite how life has gone for you, despite your job, your title, your major, or your "influence", feeling unqualified is totally normal. Every day we are at war with ourselves, sometimes even against ourselves, struggling to feel whole and worthy exactly as we are. Anyone who has ever accomplished something great has struggled with that feeling. The difference between Oprah, and us, or Michelle Obama, and us, is they didn't let their feeling of being unqualified actually disqualify them from their purpose and calling. Our job as strong, fearless women, is to make an impact, and shine a light despite that feeling, because it's just that, it's a feeling. Just because you FEEL unqualified, doesn't mean you ARE unqualified. The devil likes to sneak in and corrupt our thought life any chance he can get. Any moment he can convince us that we are not deserving of our blessings, or up to the challenge, he will. But to that I say, YOU ARE. You are up to the challenge, you are qualified to write a best-seller at the age of 16, or to get accepted into Harvard. You are qualified and gifted as a worship leader. You may feel like your fashion blog is one in a million blogs out there, but God has something specific and special to YOU that He wants to share with the world. You are qualified to land your dream job and start that magazine. Whoever told you otherwise, doesn't deserve to be in your life. I am living, breathing proof that God doesn't CALL the QUALIFIED, He QUALIFIES the CALLED.
You were born for such a time as this. You are unique, you are special, you are anointed to accomplish the specific purpose God has for your life. You are qualified, and you are set apart to change the world. If you read this feeling unworthy today, or doubtful of the purpose God has for you, I hope you now feel otherwise. I hope you know how special and cherished you are, and most importantly, I hope you believe it. When you're feeling unworthy and undeserving of the blessings in your life speak these verses out loud:
"The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, for HE has anointed ME to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free." // Luke 4:18 NLT
"Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am." // Philippians 4:13 MSG
"It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God." // 2 Corinthians 3:5
Be blessed today, girls! Remember, it isn't your parents, your friends, your colleagues, classmates, or even a man that qualifies you, it is always, only, ever God. He loves you with an unconditional, forgiving, grace-filled love. Remember, YOU are a Daughter of Day. A queen in every sense of the word! I love you guys so much!
